Reconstruction of open spaces along the Old National Road in Platanias (Maleme and Kolymvari )

This project includes the regeneration of an area of 7 km along the old national road which crosses the settlements between Maleme and Kolimbari in the Municipality of Platanias. New squares are created in the settlements and a cycling and walking route in Maleme next to the military airport which passes through the old Second World War bridge in Tavronitis. The projects uses bioclimatic elements such as innovative rain garden systems and materials such as stone-filled wire boxes. The route also has a historical character highlighting the 2nd world war landmarks (RAF monument, belley bridges).
